The Town of Lyman’s Age Friendly Ad Hoc Committee is dedicated to making our community a better place for residents of all ages—especially older adults. Established by the Select Board, this advisory committee is part of Lyman’s commitment to the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities.
The committee’s main goal is to develop a comprehensive Age Friendly Action Plan that identifies and addresses the needs of our aging population. This includes public outreach, surveys, workshops, and assessments focused on key areas such as:
-
Housing
-
Transportation
-
Health services
-
Outdoor spaces
-
Social participation
-
Communication and information
By working collaboratively with the community, the committee aims to recommend sustainable, long-term strategies that enhance quality of life, improve accessibility, and foster inclusivity for all.
All committee meetings are open to the public, and community involvement is encouraged throughout the process.
We invite you to follow our progress, attend meetings, and share your insights as we work to create a more age-friendly Lyman.
