The Town of Lyman is seeking individuals and/or organizations/businesses to perform full-time municipal assessing services. If you are a motivated and team-oriented individual, then this may be an opportunity for you! The Town of Lyman’s Tax Assessor is responsible for the inspection and assessment of all categories of the commercial, residential, and personal property for the Town of Lyman. This position interacts with the public and must be able to provide exemplary customer service while explaining the tax process, responding to abatement requests, and maintaining records of ownership, taxation records, property cards, land-use zoning maps, annual audits, and other relevant assessing documents.

The preferred candidate/organization/business will be a Certified Maine Assessor with at least 3 years of prior municipal work experience. In addition, applicants should have an Associate Degree from an accredited two or four-year institution or any equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Maine driver’s license is required. Experience with Trio software is desirable.
We are open to discussing different options for completing tese duties including but not limited to flexible work scheduling or partial remote work options.
