TOWN OF LYMAN
The Town of Lyman is seeking applicants for the position of Treasurer for the Town of Lyman. Seeking a person who has strong work ethic, organized, detail oriented and who also can demonstrate customer service skills. This is a highly responsible position that requires a high degree of interaction with the public and office staff. To professionally and successfully carry out the duties as required by the Board of Selectmen; including the handling and oversight of all monies collected by the Town. The Municipal Treasurer shall manage the affairs of the Town of Lyman in keeping with the ordinances and laws of the State of Maine, Town Charter and of the United States. This position requires a degree in accounting or any combination of experience and training.
The candidate must possess municipal experience and with using TRIO software. The workweek will be 37 ½ hours Monday through Friday. Attending evening meetings as requested by Board of Selectmen along with attending Budget Committee Meetings will be required along with any other requested evening meetings. Considerable experience including administrative responsibility in work involving the receipt, deposit, disbursement and investment of large amounts of money and involving a number of accounts; payroll and accounts payable; process EFT’s deadlines: graduation from a college or university with a four year degree in public administration, business administration or financial management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Preference given to those with Maine Municipal Tax Collectors’ & Treasurers’ certification. Competitive pay based on qualifications and experience.
