Proposals will be accepted at the Lyman Town Hall Select Board Office, until 4:00 p.m. on Friday October 27, 2017. Proposals will be publicly opened on
October 30, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Lyman Town Hall.
Town of Lyman Select Board is seeking request for proposals for design/build guard rail system at the Transfer Station recycle bins.
There is a total of 3 sections, each measuring 22 feet in length with a center post at 11 feet on center.
The guardrails shall meet the following specifications:
For each 22-foot section there must be 2, removable and lockable 8’ sections on either side of the center post.
They shall be constructed out of steel with a minimum of 2” square tubing with 1/8” wall thickness.
Flanges shall be lagged into the concrete.
The guard rail system requires a guard railing, mid-rail and toe board
- Height of the top rail at 39”
- Height of the mid rail at 24”
- 3-4” toe rail
The chosen contractor must provide the following before work commences:
- Proof of liability insurance with the town named as additional insured for a minimum of $2 million.
- Proof of worker’s compensation insurance or a rebuttal presumption form from the state.
- W-9 form
A mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held at the Towns Transfer Station located at 988 So. Waterboro Rd. Lyman, on Saturday October 21 at 10:00 a.m. Failure to attend this meeting will result in disqualification.
The Town of Lyman reserves the right to waive all information in the proposals, to accept any bid or portion thereof, or to reject any or all proposals should it be deemed in its best interest to do so. All proposals shall be held by the Board of Selectmen not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the proposals, investigating the qualifications of the bidders, then awarding the job.
